THE BELLY GETUP is an incredible mobility, stability, and recovery drill to play with during our OFF WEEK. It teaches your body how to completely disassociate the shoulders (specifically the Thoracic Spine) from the hips and can bulletproof the lower back.
Once you can get into the belly getup position, take 5 deep and full belly breaths, inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth. Then move to the regular getup on your back and do a full getup to stand and back. Switch sides and repeat.
Start with your bodyweight and go no heavier than the lighter weight you've been using for POSTIONAL FLOWS all month. Do it daily along with your shin box work. Spend more time peeling open the tight side and/or do multiple reps on that side. This drill will come into play for the first WOW of December 2020.
